As autumn settles into Milwaukee, we're thrilled to be part of something special—the city's inaugural Milwaukee Vegan Restaurant Week, presented by Café Corazón (November 3-9). Our contribution? A retired crowd-favorite sandwich that proves plant-based can be just as crave-worthy as any classic. Alongside this limited-time special, we're pouring bourbon cocktails that warm from the inside out and maple lattes that taste like fall in a cup.

The Klug

Specially featured for Milwaukee Vegan Restaurant Week, The Klug is our love letter to plant-based dining done right. We're talking tender pulled jackfruit piled high with peppery arugula, tangy pickled onions and jalapeños, melty vegan cheddar, and our house-made vegan garlic aioli—all nestled in a fresh hoagie roll.

As Wendy Mireles of Café Corazón (and the visionary behind MKE Vegan Week) puts it: "We want guests to love our vegan offerings because they are delicious and just happen to be vegan." The Klug? It's exactly that.

Wisconsin pride meets bourbon sophistication in this herbaceous sipper. Four Roses brings the warmth, Fernet Branca adds complexity, while honey and mint keep things balanced. It's basically a hug in a glass—with a little kick.

Local maple syrup meets our house rosemary syrup in this autumn anthem. Made with Sugar Leaf's signature pie blend coffee (yes, the same beans that pair perfectly with our sliced and whole pies), it's available hot for those crisp mornings or iced for the optimists still holding onto fall's warmer days.
